Accreditation

Accreditation is a form of certification in which an independent body will verify that a school or academic program meets minimum academic standards. It ensures that the academic credential a student works so hard to obtain means something substantial, and that it will be recognized as such by employers and other post-secondary institutions.

BILIM ORDA International Social Foundation

As a parent organization, BILIM ORDA (formerly known as KATEV) coordinates the operation of a network of over thirty secondary schools and a university all over Kazakhstan. Established in 1997, BILIM ORDA has served to support the functioning of aforementioned institutions since then. The mission of BILIM ORDA is to bring up knowledgeable and multilingual young people who can contribute to the development of their country in a competitive world and preserve their national values. Beyond the academic and pastoral support, the Foundation implements rigorous quality assurances of the institutions affiliated with it.

Cambridge International Examinations (CIE)

Spectrum became a Cambridge International School in September 2011 and, thus, being authorized to formally offer Cambridge IGCSE and A/AS Level programmes and qualifications to its students. Several months later Spectrum was also registered as a Cambridge Primary School that enabled the school to deliver Cambridge Primary and Secondary 1 programmes and qualifications including Primary and Secondary Checkpoints. CIE is the world’s largest provider of international education programmes and qualifications for 5 to 19-year-olds. It is part of the University of Cambridge, one of the world’s top universities and trusted for excellence in education. Council of International Schools (CIS)

Spectrum is accredited by CIS and the status of CIS Accreditation confers international recognition to stakeholders all over the world. The status of international accreditation demonstrates a school’s commitment to high-quality international education to the school community as well as to the outside world: prospective families, educational leaders, and teachers as well as universities, embassies, other government departments, and global companies and organizations. New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)

Spectrum has applied to undertake a rigorous accreditation process from NEASC that will be jointly conducted by CIS. At the moment the school has been granted candidacy for NEASC Accreditation. Founded in 1885, the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) is the nation’s oldest regional accrediting association. It serves over 1899 public and independent schools, post-secondary institutions (universities and colleges) in the six states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The Educational Collaborative for International Schools (ECIS)

Spectrum International School has also been granted a Premium Membership of ECIS. ECIS is an association of international schools founded in 1965 with headquarters in London, UK. The primary service of ECIS is professional development for international educators, including conferences, workshops, online learning, the International Teacher Certificate, the Sustainable International School Governance Programme, and consultancy services. Cambridge English Language Assessment

In the summer of 2015, the School became an Authorised Centre for Cambridge English Language Assessment which means the School can offer internationally renowned English language exams such as Cambridge English: Starters, Movers, Flyers, Key for Schools, Preliminary for Schools, First for Schools, Advanced and Teaching Knowledge Tests to its students and the local community. SAT Test Center

Spectrum International School has been approved to officially offer SAT tests beginning from March 2018 onward. It is a great opportunity that enables our students to benefit from familiar surroundings and easy access. The SAT is administered at designated test centers throughout the world. They vary in size, setting, and the test dates for which they are open. The SAT is administered by College Board in the United States and is developed, published, and scored by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). College Board is an American non-profit organization that was formed as the College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB) to expand access to higher education. College Board develops and administers standardized tests and curricula used by K–12 and post-secondary education institutions to promote college-readiness and as part of the college admissions process. Recognition by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Since the very beginning, Spectrum has been recognized and authorized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan as a non-profit educational institution of learning established for the purpose of creating a new educational model in the sphere of secondary general education in the Republic of Kazakhstan in line with the national and international educational standards. Later in 2014, the school was among one of the first international schools in the country to be awarded the special status known as ‘the status of international school’ that enables the school with numerous opportunities for the benefit of the student body and effective school operation.
