Cambridge IGCSE:
9-10 grades

Welcome to Cambridge IGCSE!

Cambridge IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) is an international examination program developed by CAIE (Cambridge Assessment International Education), part of the University of Cambridge. It offers qualifications in a variety of compulsory and extended learning subjects for teenagers aged 14-16.

The program is designed for pupils who wish to gain an internationally recognized qualification at the end of high school (Year 10). It is available to pupils in over 140 countries worldwide and is used in over 4,500 schools. Cambridge IGCSE is suitable for a range of ability levels and can be particularly useful for those whose first language is not English.

The Cambridge IGCSE program is designed to assess students' knowledge and skills in a variety of academic subjects. It allows students to demonstrate their achievements and readiness for further education or career development. The IGCSE certificate is universal and can be useful when applying to educational institutions in different countries, as well as when looking for a job.

Our programmes balance a thorough knowledge and understanding of a subject and help to develop the skills learners need for their next steps in education or employment.

Our expertise in curriculum, teaching and learning, and assessment is the basis for the recognition of our programmes and qualifications around the world. The combination of knowledge and skills in Cambridge IGCSE gives learners a solid foundation for further study. Candidates who achieve grades A* to C are well prepared to follow a wide range of courses including Cambridge International AS & A Level. Cambridge IGCSEs are accepted and valued by leading universities and employers around the world as evidence of academic achievement. Many universities require a combination of Cambridge International AS & A Levels and Cambridge IGCSEs or equivalent to meet their entry requirements.

UK NARIC, the national agency in the UK for the recognition and comparison of international qualifications and skills, has carried out an independent benchmarking study of Cambridge IGCSE and found it to be comparable to the standard of the reformed GCSE in the UK. This means students can be confident that their Cambridge IGCSE qualifications are accepted as equivalent to UK GCSEs by leading universities worldwide.

Cambridge IGCSE examination sessions occur twice a year, in June and November. Results are issued in August and January.
